How We Publish DHR Reports
While learning from DHRs is vital, the reports can contain sensitive information that may continue to affect families for years. Under Article 8 of the Human Rights Act, everyone has a right to privacy, and keeping these reports online indefinitely can unintentionally cause harm. Some areas take a more compassionate approach. For example, Preston Community Safety Partnership publishes DHR reports for 12 months before removing them, while still providing access on request. We will adopt the same approach. After one year, reports will be removed from our website but will remain available on request. This allows us to:
Share essential learning,
Reduce long‑term distress for families,
Protect children and future generations, and
Respect the dignity and privacy of those affected.
